Dr. Yadira Baez-Lockard was awarded her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois, and is licensed at the highest level for psychologists in the state of South Carolina. She completed her internship at the Kentucky Department of Corrections where she focused on the treatment of male and female sex offenders. Dr. Lockard has worked extensively providing evaluations for parole hearings and terminally ill patients. She has done research and received training in Chicago with regards to the unique clinical needs of the Latino population and correctional population.
As a forensic psychologist, Dr. Lockard has been designated as an expert witness by several courts. She has conducted and consulted on 2000+ forensic cases in state and federal courts. She has testified on 300+ cases including military court martial. Dr. Lockard’s areas of expertise includes sexual misconduct, traumatic brain injury, alcohol intoxication, domestic violence, trauma and memory.
A native of Puerto Rico, she is fully bilingual and bicultural. Her experience includes many years of forensic and clinical treatment and evaluation in out-patient, in-patient, and correctional settings. Such experiences included Community Mental Health Clinics, Autism Clinics, County and Psychiatric Hospitals, Residential Treatment Centers for Troubled Children and Adolescents, and state behavioral and social services agencies. Her areas of expertise (all bilingual) include: clinical, criminal forensic, psychosexual, and neuropsychological assessment and treatment. She also provides group, family, and individual psychotherapy services, testifies in court as an expert witness, and conducts comprehensive evaluations in most forensic areas for municipal, state, and federal courts. She provides cultural competency trainings for mental health professionals and provides supervision/training to the pre-doctoral psychology practicum students and post-doctoral psychology residents.
